Target Practice

Deric likes to shoot his bow in the yard for practice (not that he needs to), the kids love it too.  They all want to be the one who gets to hold his arrows or to be the one that pulls them from the target.   This day they were at it early, none of them were even out of their pjs yet!

This picture makes me laugh EVERY time I look at it!  It was a total free for all and Brody tripped when running and his legs went over his head it was SO funny!  I actually have a progression of him falling!!  He-hee

Brody didn’t get any this time! The fall really slowed him down!

The next time I went out I saw Reygann on the ladder and she wanted me to take her picture

and then off of the house, different distances I guess, Whatever!  As long as the kids don’t try to join him I’m good!

Our New Swing Set

It has FINALLY happened!  We are swing set owners!  It only took how many tries??  Humm, I think the count was 5!  5 times we were promised a swing set and 5 times the price was jacked up at the last minute or it was given away after being promised to us!  Talk about major disappointment, we’ve been searching since last spring!  Sunday was the big day.  Deric, his Dad, and Jordan took off bright and early to pick it up.  With the luck we’ve had we didn’t tell the kids what was going on just incase it went wrong… again!  I figured it would be around 1 before they would be back, so imagine my surprise when they pulled in at 11!  I actually ran to the window to see if they actually had the swing set on the trailer!  I thought there was no way there was enough time to get there and back and take it appart.  But I guess my hubby is just that good!  *grin*  There were threats of storms all day, but they managed to miss all of them… until it was time to set the swing set up!  It wasn’t raining too hard, just enough to be a pain.  Deric and his dad worked right through it (along with the kids too!)

 

I stayed inside, I didn’t want to get wet (plus I was making lunch)!

I was so surprised how quickly they got it back up.

 

He said he was ‘working’ inside the playhouse, but I think he was checking it out!

Brody couldn’t catch himself if his life depended on it!  EVERY time he would slide off the bottom and skid on the grass!

Isn’t it pretty cute?  It wasn’t great as some of the sets I was promised, but I’m not complaining!  I’m just glad we finally have one!  Plus we are going to be doing a little remodeling on it!  Who us??  Of course!  It’s what we do!  I’m not sure when the room addition is going to take place, but I’ll show ya pictures when does.

And to wrap things up I gave Deric his Fathers day gift too.  He has been wanting a fire pit for a while and we’ve been checking Craigslist, Freecycle, and garage sales with no luck.  So I gave up and just bought him a new one.  The kids played all day on the swing set and Deric and I sat by our fire.  We even made hot dogs over it and s’mores for dessert!  It is kinda silly, but it really feels like home outside now!  It just seems cozier now!

I snapped this beaut on the way home from my Gramma’s 80th birthday party…  It was the first time we took the bike out since last year and of course it had to rain!  Pardon the quality, I took it on my cell.  …and I have just a regular cell, not one of those fancy pants ones!

I'm still not sure how it fell... I'm pretty sure it was an accident. At least he tried to pick it back up! That's about it... we're pretty busy and boring right now!
