House Update/Tour

I’ve has this post started for a long time.  The pictures have been uploaded and then they just sat there.  Better late than never, right??

HousePictures

This first shot it looking into the foyer from the family room/dining room

You can’t really see this corner from the first picture, it is hiding behind the stairs, but I really like it for some reason.  I think I need more lamps, I love the glow it gives off.

 HousePictures-3

I like the way this turned out too.  My parents found this cabinet in their garage when the moved a few years ago.  It was COATED in paint and pretty dirty.  I just loved it though, so we swapped stuff and I got the awesome cabinet!  It took forever to strip and it still needs more (but I like it the way it is).  I do need to put a coat of poly on it since it looks pretty dull…

HousePictures-2

This could use a little more work, but I’m happy with it for now.  I ‘shopped my house’ and didn’t spend any money putting this corner together!  (Well, I bought the table from a friend for $5 a month ago… so I guess it cost me $5)

 HousePictures-1

This is the view from the front door.  I plan on getting a new rug, I’m stalking one right now waiting for it to go on clearance!

HousePictures-13

I don’t like that when you walk in the front door you look right into the powder room… but there really wasn’t an option on where else to put it.

HousePictures-14

(Yes, I know the doors are upside down!  We hung the cabinet that way but I haven’t had time to flip the doors yet!)

HousePictures-5

Now on to my room!  I really love my room!!  I saw this bedding when shopping with my sister and fell in LOVE with it.  It isn’t my usual style (or price range) so I didn’t really think anything about it.  …but it kept creeping back into my mind and I finally knew I had to have it!  After waiting what seems like forever I finally got the set on a KILLER sale, and I used a store card to save more money, and they had a deal going on that you get a gift card for every so much you spend.  I really made out!

HousePictures-8

I got this dresser off of Craigslist, I really liked the lines on it.  It needs to be refinished, but until we make our headboard and footboard I’m not going to do anything with it yet.  Just incase I change my mind on the color or something.

 HousePictures-7

This dresser I’ve had since I was 9.  I’m going to refinish it too… later.

 HousePictures-9

This is the view of the room from back by my bathroom.

 HousePictures-12

And this pict is from the bathroom.  The door on the right is my closet.

HousePictures-10

I can’t believe I’m showing you these!!  The one side is hanging clothes…

HousePictures-11

…and the other side and the back wall is shelves.  I moved our stuff in, but I haven’t found the time to organize it yet.  Hopefully I will find the time soon, but if I don’t at least I can close the door! :0)

So, I think that’s it.  You’ve seen the whole house.  This winters project is going to be working on the basement so we can move the play room down there… so until then…

Happy Birthday Papoo!

Yes, this is from a while back. How'd ya guess? It was the coats, wasn't it? My dad's birthday was in March and my sister and I wanted to throw a party for him with the grandkids. We always do something for mom for St Patty's day so we thought it would be fun to do something for dad too. Joan worked it out with Mom and found out Dad was going to be home so we got our supplies and packed up and headed over to their house. It was really cold and windy out and it started to rain, so we ran up to the house to find the doors locked! Then we noticed that Dad's truck wasn't there!! Oh no! We called mom back and she called dad and found out that he ran out to do an errand! We piled back into the cars to stay warm and dry while we waited for mom to call us back. But before we left we took a picture of the kids outside to prove we were there!!
And I took a picture to prove that it had been raining on us!
I don't remember what it was, but I had something for Dad to pick up so Mom called him and asked if he could pick it up on his way home. Joan and kids hung out while we waited for him to show.

Once he was in the house the kids attacked him with shouts of Happy Birthday and party horns!

The cupcakes had seen better days, but what do you expect when the kids were carrying them around all morning.

Then he opened his present... Look at that face, he really like it!

Showing off his present.

Happy Birthday Papoo!!

Princess Sophia

Kylie's class was learning about penguins this winter after studying them for a while they had a penguin party. They each had to pick out their new penguin name and Kylie picked Princess Sophia. She wanted me to take a picture of her in her penguin outfit... I think she looks pretty cute if I say so myself!

(See told you were from a while ago! Man I don't miss the plastic!!)

Striking her best penguin pose.

Kylie's Turn!

Last fall someone knocked the screen out of the bathroom window and Reygann got to fetch it for us. Daddy accidentally knocked it out this time and Kylie was so excited to be the one to get it this time! She had just come home from penguin day at school so pardon the shoes with her outfit!

up we go

She's gripping pretty tightly here! She really did want to go out!

A little nervous at first...
...but got over it pretty quick!
The fun's over, time to come back in

Nice, she did a flip! She really liked that part!

(Since these were taken Daddy was working on the roof again Brody was standing on the toilet talking to him so I passed him out. Brody wasn't happy that Daddy was holding him and not putting him down out there... I'm not that crazy!!)

Mommy Spa Day

Last week Kylie came home from school with this cute Mommy Spa invitation in her backpack.

  MommySpa  MommySpa-1

I thought it was great until I started to read it!   Apparently Kylie was going to be my personal attendant and give me the full spa treatment at school!  Ack!  I hate getting messed with, and I am pretty sure I have hair-a-phobia!  (I don’t like my hair getting messed with by anyone, not even a hairstylist.)

 MommySpa

Me on the way to get all glammed up!

There were 8 different stations that our personal attendant would take us to and give us the royal treatment.

MommySpa-1

Here we are at the hair station, they had a bunch of different clips and hair bows and of course hair spray!

 MommySpa-2

I tried getting a picture with all my clips in, but I kept missing and only ended up with a picture with the one clip.

 MommySpa-3

The next station we stopped at was the manicure station.

 MommySpa-4

Kylie painted my nails this lovely shade of pink… and my other hand purple!  (If you look in the picture above you can see the purple nail polish next to the pink one.)

 MommySpa-5

There was a snack station, your child served you your snack and then gave you a massage!  After that Kylie painted my toes, she touched up the color they already were, then added a ‘wet’ coat, and then a glitter coat!

MommySpa-6

…then came the makeup!  She actually didn’t do an awful job… she did put eye shadow stripes on my cheeks, but what was she to do there wasn’t any blush!

 MommySpa-7

Kylie’s pants got all wet when we did the foot soaking station, oops!  I really liked that station, she was really good at rubbing the lotion in my feet.  I just might make her do it again!

MommySpa-8

And finally our ‘after’ shot.
