Obviously by the kids being all bundled up (and the snow on the ground) these were from a while ago! Deric and I were working and the kids were playing outside on the snow hill at the neighbors. They decided that the window looked dirty and they climbed into the window well and washed the window with snow. They did a pretty good job too!
Deric worked on parging the walls. It was a lot of mixing and scraping, and in the end we didn’t like the result so it was basically a waste of time and money! :0(
He used a 100# bag and ran out all on just this one wall! After it dried it got really bumpy and cracked. It was worth a try, but now we had to go out and buy more drywall. (We were parging the bottom of the cement walls instead of drywalling them.)
Drywall purchased, hung, and mudded!
We got the walls primed, and Deric got the job of taping off and cutting in on the stairs!
He stayed on the ladder as far as he could reach, and when he couldn’t reach anymore he stood on the 2x4!
The walls came out a little brighter than I expected, but this isn’t a good representation of the color. It kinda had a slimer green look to it. Now that all the trim is finished and all that kind of stuff it really bounces the light and the color is much better, except it still looks a little crazy on the stairs! I’ll have to see what I can do about that…
