Tyler’s Tender

There is a local restaurant  that is all about trains, I had forgotten about it and when I remembered it I KNEW we had to take Brody (again, if this even counts).   He was in AWE, it was so cute.  The girls loved it too, but this was for Brody.

At times he was so excited and at other times he was just looking around and soaking it all in

One of the best parts was there was a train that brought you your food (if you are sitting at the counter that is).

They had a big display in the middle of the restaurant that had a few different tracks on it, there were controls on the sides so the kids could make them work.  They all had fun making them go.

Of course we rode the coin train, but we also went on the big train ride!  There is an arcade now too and we got to “play” all those games too.  We actually let them play a few, but Brody had the most fun with the ones we didn’t pay for, like the driving game or the shooting game.  Since the screen is always ‘playing’ he thought he was playing the game!  Ha-haa, works for us!

House Update

Obviously by the kids being all bundled up (and the snow on the ground) these were from a while ago!  Deric and I were working and the kids were playing outside on the snow hill at the neighbors.  They decided that the window looked dirty and they climbed into the window well and washed the window with snow.  They did a pretty good job too!

Deric worked on parging the walls.  It was a lot of mixing and scraping, and in the end we didn’t like the result so it was basically a waste of time and money!  :0(

He used a 100# bag and ran out all on just this one wall!   After it dried it got really bumpy and cracked.  It was worth a try, but now we had to go out and buy more drywall.  (We were parging the bottom of the cement walls instead of drywalling them.)

We got the walls primed, and Deric got the job of taping off and cutting in on the stairs!

He stayed on the ladder as far as he could reach, and when he couldn’t reach anymore he stood on the 2x4!

The walls came out a little brighter than I expected, but this isn’t a good representation of the color.  It kinda had a slimer green look to it.  Now that all the trim is finished and all that kind of stuff it really bounces the light and the color is much better, except it still looks a little crazy on the stairs!  I’ll have to see what I can do about that…

Daddy’s Helper

These pictures are a little late, but I had to post them.

DaddysHelper DaddysHelper-1

Brody was downstairs helping daddy work, when daddy took his tool belt off Brody jumped right in and put it on.  Well, he tried to put it on.  It’s a lot of belt for a little guy!

I’m really lovin his ‘work boots’.  Ha-haa!!!

Snowy House

SnowyHouse

Thankfully it isn’t snowy anymore (at least for now) but I wanted to post these anyways.  I love when it snows those big, thick, fluffy flakes!

I’d rather it be Fall though…

Here comes braces!

…at least that what I think is coming.

She’s got great teeth.  They are all nicely in a row with out any gaps…

IMG_8716

but now that her second tooth is loose I’m realizing that having gaps might have been a good thing!

KyliesSecondTooth-1

The tooth on the right was on the one she lost before, the one on the left is loose now.

KyliesSecondTooth

I’m hoping the new tooth will move up into place, but even if it does I don’t think there is going to be enough room for it to fit in there!  We have a regular dentist visit in a month, I’m betting he is going to have something to say about this.  They don’t start braces when you still have baby teeth, right?  I had braces, the orthodontist told me I needed a whole new mouth!  Ack!

Brody cut his hair!!

Can you believe it?!  Ugh, I still can’t believe he did it!  The worst part is that he just got a hair cut!  It wouldn’t have been so bad if his hair was still so long!

BrodyCutHisHair

It’s kinda hard to see, but he took the scissors flat to the right side of his head and then across the front.

You can see it better here!  (Love the lip, don’t you!?)

BrodyCutHisHair-3 BrodyCutHisHair-4

Oh, child!

BrodyCutHisHair

It looked a little odd, when I styled it.  but if I pushed it over it wasn’t too bad…  I just still can’t believe he did it.  Let me tell ya, Reygann did it… and now Brody, I am not going to be happy if Kylie does it!  She’s old enough to know better!!

I am SO grossed out!!!

The girls were outside playing in the snow before lunch today, I called them to come in and Reygann told me they had something to show me and Kylie was getting it.   I asked if it was an animal and she said no.  I really had no idea what it could have been since they are always bringing home treasures.   Imagine my surprise when Kylie walks into the kitchen (while we are still cooking) holding a dead bird!  Yes, a DEAD BIRD!  ACK!!!  Umm, how is a dead bird not an animal??  *Shudder*  I may have freaked out just a tiny bit telling her to get it out and not to touch ANYTHING!!  I had Daddy scrub their hands, then had them use sanitizer, and honestly I’m still grossed out!  I would have made them wear gloves to eat if I think they could have!   Ewwww!!!!
